Listening to Bill Geezy and the Promise Breaker’s roots rock album The Orchid Lounge (rated as one of the top 10 albums of 2003 by the Minneapolis StarTribune), the most striking thing is the skill of Clint Hoover, the harmonica player. His solos are deft and moving and help infuse Geezy’s songs with the raw emotion that they strive for. Geezy has been a member of The Stoney Lonesome Bluegrass Band (on Prairie Home Companion) and a Grammy nominee. Hoover, one of the leading masters of the diatonic and chromatic harmonicas, has previously released a jazz CD, Dream of the Serpent Dog. The two will perform an acoustic show here.
